About This Cocktail
A deeply layered Old Fashioned built on two house infusions — a purple corn gin with Amuerte Blue at its base, and an Ocho Tequila infused with torched Hoja Santa for its green, anise-like smoke. Del Maguey Vida Mezcal rounds the base, angostura tightens the finish, and the whole drink is stirred cold over a 5×5×5 cm Amuerte-stamped ice cube. Restrained, precise, and built to be sipped slowly.

- Tumbler Nude
- 5×5×5 cm ice cube with Amuerte stamp
Method
Purple Corn Gin (prepare ahead)
- Combine the Amuerte Blue Gin and dried purple corn
- Cold-infuse under vacuum for 12 hours
- Pass through a fine sieve and bottle
Hoja Santa Tequila (prepare ahead)
- Torch the Hoja Santa leaves with a blowtorch until lightly charred and aromatic
- Add the torched leaves to the Ocho Tequila and infuse under vacuum for 12 hours
- Pass through a fine sieve and bottle
Build the Cocktail
- Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice
- Stir until the cocktail is ice-cold and properly diluted
- Strain directly into a tumbler over a 5×5×5 cm Amuerte-stamped ice cube
Both infusions improve with a few hours of rest after bottling — the flavours settle and the edges round out. Torch the Hoja Santa just enough to release its oils; over-charring tips the drink bitter. Always stir, never shake — this is a spirit-forward cocktail that relies on clarity and slow dilution for its final shape.
